The Golden Ball is set in Lower Swell, a rural farming village in the heart of the Cotswolds. Full of peace and quiet with panoramic views, and yet only 1 mile from the famous town of Stow-on-the-Wold, with its old market shops, galleries and many antique emporiums.

The Golden Ball is also situated on the beautiful Donnington Way, with walks to Upper Swell where the celebrated Donnington brewery is to be found, as well as the local trout farm and Naunton Downs 18 hole golf club.

When you visit you will find yourself immersed in the unspoilt, natural charms of a traditional Cotswold inn where conviviality is uppermost. In this latter regard the inn uniquely offers the opportunity to watch or join in with the traditional garden game of ‘Aunt Sally’ which requires competitors to throw sticks at an ‘Aunt Sally’ doll to score points.
